The knuckle jar is an extended type of the knuckle joint, the knuckle jar is used to combine with running tools, and operated to transmit effective jarring forces up and down. The knuckle jar not only has the rotation and change function of the universal section, but also has the function of the jarring, which is usually applied in some workings where the tool length is limited and does not require shock due to the short overall length and the smaller shock force. The wireline knuckle jar works as a backup means of de-carding when entering precision test instruments.
