How to Use a Foam Soap Dispenser Correctly

Using a foam dispenser is straightforward, but a few tips ensure you get the best results:

1. Use the Correct Soap: This is the most important rule. You must use soap that is specifically labeled "Foam Soap" or "Foaming Hand Soap."

   • Why? Foam soap is a pre-diluted formula. It is typically about 80% water and 20% soap concentrate. Trying to use a thick, concentrated liquid soap will clog the mechanism and the pump will fail.

2. The Dispensing Motion:

   • Place your hand under the spout.

   • Press the pump lever slowly and evenly. A quick, hard press can sometimes cause the mechanism to spurt liquid instead of forming a perfect foam.

   • You only need one pump, as the foam expands to fill your hands.

3. Lather and Wash:

   • The soap is already lathered, but you should still rub your hands together for at least 20 seconds as recommended by health guidelines, ensuring you cover all surfaces of your hands.

   • Rinse thoroughly with water.
