These 5-layer artificial casings provide exceptional oxygen and water barrier properties, extending shelf life while reducing secondary packaging costs.
The multi-barrier casing is thermo-shrinkable and produced from specially formulated polyamide raw materials of high polymer quality. These casings are suitable for cooking applications and feature shrink characteristics that create a skin-like appearance after cooking. Available in printed or unprinted options.

Applications
Our custom size steam cooking polyamide sausage casings are widely used throughout the food industry for various applications including steam cooking sausages, luncheon meat, mortadella, cheese, butter, condensed milk, and pet foods.
Usage Instructions
Soaking
Casing shirred or cut pieces should be soaked in cold water for approximately 30 minutes.
Stuffing
Casing should be stuffed tightly, 5% to 8% larger than nominal diameter. Never under stuff casing. Clip tightly to prevent slipping.
Cooking
Steam or water cook to desired internal temperature.
Cooling
Cool slowly using intermittent 2-minute on and 3-minute off showering cycles until internal temperature reaches 115-118°F, or shower continuously for 20 minutes.
Storage
Avoid placing product in direct airflow from fans immediately after cooking. Cooling too quickly or refrigerating casing before proper cooling may cause wrinkles. Finished products may be frozen.
