Technology Overview
Gas Boiler Flue Gas Composition
Commercial gas boilers using natural gas produce flue gas containing particulate matter (PM), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) that require treatment before atmospheric release.
Working Principle
SCR technology utilizes a gas-solid catalytic reaction where NOx in boiler flue gas reacts with urea solution (decomposed to ammonia NH3) on the catalyst surface. This reduction reaction converts harmful NOx into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O).
