Wear Plate Steel Description:
Wear-resistant steel plate is a special steel plate specially designed for steel with higher resistance to abrasive wear. It has excellent wear resistance and is an ideal material for large-area wear situations,widely used in various engineering and application fields that require wear resistance.
Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate is specially designed to withstand the impact and wear that comes with heavy-duty use.Some commonly used grades of wear resistant steel plate include:
- NM360
- NM400/AR400
- NM450/AR450
- NM500/AR500
- AR600
These grades differ in terms of their composition, hardness, and resistance to wear, making them suitable for various applications, such as construction, mining, and manufacturing.
- AR400 is “thru-hardened”, abrasion resistant, alloy wear plate. Hardness range is 360/440 BHN with a nominal hardness of 400 BHN.
- AR500 is a “thru-hardened”, abrasion resistant, alloy wear plate. Hardness range is 470/540 BHN with a nominal hardness of 500 BHN.

Abrasion Resistant Steel Applications:
- The AR400 are premium abrasion resistant steel plates that are heat-treated and exhibit through-hardening. Improved forming and weding capabilities.
- AR450 is an abrasion resistant plate used in a variety of applications where slightly greater strength is desired beyond AR400.
- AR500 plates are suitable for mining, forestry and construction applications.
- AR600 is utilized in high-wear areas such as aggregate removal, mining, and the manufacture of buckets and wear bodies.
