EXPLANATION OF THE TEST
Thyroglobulin (TG) detection kit (CLIA) (hereinafter referred to as the kit) is used for the in vitro quantitative determination of thyroglobulin (TG) in human serum. For patients with congenital hypothyroidism, TG assay can identify the thyroid defect, hypoplasia or other pathological conditions. It is also can be as auxiliary diagnosis for subacute thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism, Graves disease and other diseases as well as monitoring of differentiated thyroid carcinoma patients after thyroidectomy.
 
Elevated serum Tg levels are associated with the following three factors: goiter; thyroid tissue inflammation and damage; thyroid stimulation by TSH, hCG, or TRAb.
Thyroglobulin is present in the serum of healthy individuals, and its value rises in the presence of disorders that destroy thyroid tissue. Elevated circulating Tg levels can occur in Hashimoto (chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis CLT), Graves (viral diffuse goiter), thyroid adenoma, subacute thyroiditis, and thyroid cancer. Therefore, it is mainly used as an indicator after thyroidectomy. Thyroglobulin can be detected in patients who have had a thyroidectomy and do not have thyroglobulin antibodies in their blood.
