I: Definition and basic structure of gas storage tanks
A gas storage tank is a pressure vessel used to store gas. It usually consists of tank, inlet, outlet, pressure gauge, safety valve, drain valve and other parts. The tank is usually cylindrical, and the material can be carbon steel, stainless steel, etc. The appropriate material is selected according to the nature of the stored gas and pressure requirements. For example, when storing ordinary gases such as compressed air and the pressure requirement is not high, carbon steel is commonly used; while when storing some gases with high requirements for purity and corrosion resistance, such as high-purity nitrogen or corrosive gases, stainless steel may be used.
The inlet port is used to transport the gas to the storage tank, and the outlet port is used to transport the stored gas to where it needs to be used, such as gas-using equipment or other gas-processing links. The pressure gauge is used to display the real-time pressure inside the tank, which is essential for monitoring the operating status of the gas storage tank. The safety valve is a key component in ensuring the safety of the gas storage tank, while the drain valve is used to drain any condensate that may have accumulated at the bottom of the tank.
