ASTM 2024 Cold Drawn Aluminum Rod 6000mm For Transportation Tools
2024 aluminum rod belongs to high strength duralumin, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. It has medium plasticity under quenched and newly quenched states, good spot welding, and tends to form intergranular cracks when gas welding is used. The machinability of the alloy after quenching and cold hardening is good, while the machinability after annealing is low: Corrosion resistance is not high, often using anodic oxidation treatment and paint method or surface coated with aluminum layer to improve its corrosion resistance.
2024 is mainly used to produce various parts and components with high load (but not including stamping parts and forgings), such as skeleton parts, skin, baffle frame, wing ribs, wing SPAR, rivets and other working parts below 150℃ on aircraft.
