The most economical stainless steel option, 304 provides excellent corrosion resistance against chemical corrodents, industrial atmospheres, and marine environments. This grade may become slightly magnetic when worked and is not heat treatable.
Ideal for applications requiring superior corrosion resistance, 316/316L is widely used in marine environments, highly acidic conditions, underwater equipment, surgical tools, and food/pharmaceutical applications. The addition of molybdenum enhances corrosion resistance compared to 304 grade.
