Why is galvanized pipe not used for gas?
Should you use galvanized or black pipe for gas? You should use black iron pipe. Many building codes require black iron pipe for gas. Galvanized pipe is NOT RECOMMENDED because slivers of zinc can come off the inside of the pipe and cause regulators and valves to malfunction.
