Measurement Principle
Water contains dissolved salts that exist as ions, enabling electrical conduction when electrodes are inserted and current is applied. Charged ions move directionally under the electric field influence, with anions migrating toward the anode.
Conductivity represents the reciprocal of resistivity and indicates total dissolved salt content, serving as a critical water quality assessment parameter. It reveals electrolyte concentration levels in aqueous solutions.
Conductivity exhibits temperature dependence and is typically measured as specific conductance at the standardized 25°C temperature. Lower conductivity values indicate higher water purity levels.
Installation Methods
Before Installation
Unscrew the electrode protective cap and install using appropriate mounting brackets or accessories.
Stainless steel conductivity probe installation diagram showing various mounting configurations
  • Sidewall Installation: Ensure interface tilt angle exceeds 15 degrees
  • Top Flange Installation: Note flange dimensions and electrode insertion depth
  • Pipe Installation: Consider pipe diameter, flow velocity, and pressure requirements
  • Flow-Through Installation: Monitor flow velocity and pressure conditions
  • Submersion Installation: Adjust bracket length as needed for application
