The commonly used materials for the links, shafts, and sleeves of track chains are medium carbon alloy steel. Some heavy and large excavators require heavy-duty work, so the material needs to be made of carburized alloy steel, which requires carburization quenching and tempering processes during manufacturing. The surface hardness reaches HRC52-58, with good toughness, wear resistance and fracture resistance.
