Product Overview
The HUATEC HD-101 DC Voltage Porosity Holiday Detector is designed for non-destructive detection and precise location of pinholes, bare spots, and thin points in protective coatings applied for corrosion protection on metal and concrete surfaces.
With corrosion representing a significant global economic challenge, preventative detection becomes essential for maintaining infrastructure integrity and reducing long-term costs.
Operating Principle
The detector generates a high DC voltage (0.6KV-30KV) that is applied to the coating surface through a probe. When the probe passes over a coating flaw, the electrical circuit completes, current flows from the probe to the substrate, and audible/visual alarms activate while a spark may be produced at the flaw location.
