Product Description
Product Overview

Mineral wool insulation blanket is an economical, lightweight thermal and acoustic insulation material manufactured from natural rocks (basalt and dolomite) melted at high temperature. This chemically and biologically inert material offers excellent thermal performance and sound absorption properties.

Available Facing Options

Stonewool blanket can be stitched with galvanized wire mesh and laminated with aluminum foil, black tissue, and other facing materials upon customer request.

Stonewool is chemically neutral (PH 7) or slightly alkaline and meets ASTM C 795 JIS A 9504 standards. It does not support mold, fungi, or bacterial growth.

Applications
  • Temperature control and energy conservation in power generation, metallurgical, oil refining, and chemical industries
  • Condensation prevention and personnel protection
  • Equipment insulation: exhaust flues, hot gas ducts, boilers, heat exchangers, reactors, storage tanks
  • Furnaces, ovens, autoclaves, precipitators, stacks
  • Air-conditioning ductwork and refrigeration equipment
  • Building industry applications: walls, roofs, elevator wells, thermal and fire resistance
  • Sound absorption for flat or slightly curved surfaces

Installation is easily accomplished by impaling stonewool slabs or blankets on weld pins and securing with speed clips. The unfaced surface should be applied to the hot surface being insulated.
