Product Description
Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) Matrix Body Bits
Advanced PDC matrix body drill bits engineered specifically for drilling through very hard rock formations in oil and gas applications.
PDC Drill Bit Technology
Polycrystalline diamond materials represent one of the most significant material advancements in oil drilling tools. Fixed-head bits rotate as a single unit without moving parts, and when equipped with PDC cutters, they are classified as PDC bits. Since their introduction in 1976, PDC bit usage has grown steadily and they are now nearly as common as roller-cone bits in many drilling operations.
Bit Construction Types
PDC bits are manufactured in two structurally distinct styles:
  • Matrix-Body Bits: Composed of tungsten carbide grains bonded with metallic binder for superior abrasion and erosion resistance
  • Steel-Body Bits: Constructed from ductile steel capable of withstanding high impact loads

Matrix-Body Construction Advantages
Matrix body construction utilizes a hard, brittle composite material comprising tungsten carbide grains metallurgically bonded with a tough metallic binder. This design provides exceptional resistance to abrasion and erosion while maintaining capability to withstand high compressive loads.
PDC Cutter Technology
PDC cutters feature diamond tables sintered with tungsten carbide substrates, creating the hardest cutting material known for superior formation penetration.
