Description:

A transducer is a device that converts electrical energy and sound energy into each other. Used in echo sounders, Doppler logs and acoustic correlation logs. Converting electrical energy into sound energy is called a transmitting transducer; converting sound energy into electrical energy is a receiving transducer. The transmit and receive transducers are usually used separately, but one can also be shared. The main performance indicators of the transducer are: operating frequency, frequency bandwidth, electro-acoustic frequency, impedance at resonant frequency, directivity (transmission beam width) and sensitivity.
