A simple Lens consists of a single piece of material, while a compound Lens consists of several
simple lenses (elements), usually along a common axis.
- Lenses are made from transparent materials such as glass, polymers etc which are ground and polished to a desired shape. A Lens can focus light to form an image.
- Led Optical Lenses used in the street light, high way led lamp, tunnel lamp, square lamp, road lamp, city lighting, parking spot lamp, track lighting fixtures, scenery area, retail lighting and other applications where high luminous flux is desired.

**LED applications that require more focused light often use a secondary optic that is placed over the LED, which internally reflects light into a spot, medium spot, wide spot or elliptical spot pattern.
**Most optics are cone shaped and need an optic holder to hold the lens in place over the LED. The
lens itself clips securely into the holder, but the holder does need to be externally adhered.
