Product Discription:
S31200 steel is austenitic ferritic stainless steel, also known as duplex stainless steel. It is a new steel grade produced on the basis of SUS329JI steel by reducing the content of C and Cr and adding N. The steel has the advantages of high strength, resistance to chloride stress corrosion, weldability, etc., and is the best pitting resistance of duplex stainless steel.
Some of the characteristics of S31200 duplex stainless steel are as follows:
- Corrosion resistance: S31200 duplex stainless steel is resistant to chloride stress corrosion and has the best pitting resistance.
- Weldability: The weldability of S31200 duplex stainless steel is the same as that of 18-8 austenitic stainless steel, without preheating before welding, and generally without heat treatment after welding.

Even in chloride and sulfide environments, duplex stainless steels show very high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Duplex stainless steel work hardening alloy.
