Applications
- Protects network devices powered from Ethernet such as webcams
- Guards against direct lightning strikes, voltage spikes, and POE overvoltage
- Protects both transmission and power circuits on POE-compatible devices
- Safeguards power-supply equipment (PSE) connected to networks
- Installed inline on RJ45 CAT6/CAT5/CAT5e cables
- Protects communication devices from lightning surges entering through network cables
- Secures valuable components including switches, routers, modems, bridges, and repeaters
Installation Guidelines
For optimal performance, the device must be properly grounded. The Ethernet ground wire (11 inch - 12 AWG) should be connected to ground through the shortest possible path.
Line-to-Line protection mode prevents short circuits between different network nodes, while Line-to-Ground mode protects against short circuits between network nodes and earth.
