Install locking handles at both ends of the added drill pipe, connect the lifter to the locking handle, lift the drill pipe to the top of the drill hole, connect with the reducer joint, remove the pad fork, lower the drill pipe into the drill hole at uniform speed, block with fork when near inlet, remove elevator and continue drilling.
Drilling involves sinking a drill string into the ground while injecting special mud to bring rock fragments and gas samples to the surface. Multiple boreholes are drilled to delineate potential deposits.
