The Tension Safety Joint serves as an emergency backoff tool in drill stem testing work strings. This critical component enables disconnection of the drill string above the packer when the test packer becomes stuck during testing operations. Available for casing sizes from 2 3/8" to 13 3/8" with working pressure up to 10,000 psi.

When running the Tension Safety Joint with Tubing Conveyed Perforating, calculate the string weight below the RTTS Safety Joint. The string weight below the tension safety joint should not exceed 30% of the tension safety joint tension sleeve rating.
