Oil and Gas Well Downhole Testing Dual Action Valve DAV Test Valve​

The dual-action valve is the DAV used in drill stem testing operation. The dual action vlave is a full-opening and annular Rupture disc controlled ball valve type downhole test valve tools. The dual action valve can be used as a tester valve or a safety valve to close the well under emergency condition.

 The DAV is run in the closed position for the testing operation, it is opened by annulus overpressure (rupture disc), and then the DAV will be reclosed by a second annulus overpressure (rupture disc). The operator mandrels are balanced to ID pressure. A two-way ratchet of the dual action valve is used to prevent the operator mandrel from shifting, except in response to annulus overpressure.
