Drill Stem Testing Tool String Vertical Shock Absorber & Radial Shock Absorber

The shock absorber is a part of the DST tool string used for oil and gas well testing opeation. There are two types of shock absorber: Radial shock absorber and Vertical shock absorber. 

The radial shock absorber protect pressure-measuring equipment or sensitive components in the workstring for shock loads transmitted through the workstring by firing of TCP guns. It can also help straighten the workstring. This radial shock absorber is mainly composed by radial shock absorption component and axial slide component. The radial shock absorption component include block retainer , housing retainer,block , block spring retention and spring. The axial slide component include housing retainer, lower adapter, mandrel , shear pin , lower bearing thrust and ring shear

The vertical shock from axial slide can be transferred to the vertical shock absorber, a part of shock will be absorbed by axial slide movement and the shear pin effect, so that the condition of radial shock absorber component and inner-wall tubing are relative stable.
