Aluminum Oxide, Al2O3 has an outstanding properties like superior mechanical strength, Vickers hardness, compressive strength, fracture toughness. Accordingly, it is wear resistant, and corrosion resistant. Because of it is a metallic oxide with well-formed crystal structure, the parts made from it have good performance of corrosion resistance, are insoluble in weak acid or alkaline solution, let alone normal water or medical fluid. The ceramic alumina parts are only slightly soluble in strong acid and alkaline solution.

Details

Alumina ceramic plungers, are formed by isostatic pressing or dry pressing technology. Grinding and polishing provide a uniform working surface for a stable performance. Through long operation, there is no leakage or just low leakage because of the high wear resistance of alumina ceramics. The alumina material complies with different drinking water regulations including certification for use up to 85° for German KTW, United Kingdom’s WRAS and French ACS, also for NSF for food safety.

The roughness of the surface of piston and plunger can be less than 0.25μm after polishing. The highly polished surface leads to very low friction which reduces heat generation greatly. Abrasion caused by solid particles will be lowered to a minimum due to the great hardness of the ceramic which is nearly as hard as diamond.
