The GREEF NEW ENERGY GDG series disc type permanent magnet generator features an innovative design with spindle and rotor assembled in a disc shape. The stator remains fixed at the center while the rotor rotates on both sides. Notably, the spindle contains only windings without an iron core.
Both stator and rotor adopt a flat disc structure utilizing axial air gap magnetic flux, arranged alternately along the axial direction. The generator's short axial length combined with large diameter supports multi-pole configuration, resulting in high power-to-mass ratio. This design enables effective low-speed operation, low wind speed starting, compact size, and low energy consumption.
Beyond being lightweight, the GDG series offers compact structure and high efficiency, making it particularly suitable for direct-drive vertical axis wind turbines. The rotor's vertical axis placement minimizes wind resistance, enhancing overall turbine performance.
The GDG series is available in two variants: outer rotor and inner rotor. The outer rotor type features rotating rotor shaft with stationary casing and center cable routing. The inner rotor type has rotating shaft with fixed casing and external cable discharge.
