Stabbing guides play a crucial role in preventing damage during the make-up process of connecting pipe sections. The guides are molded into a profile that acts as a funnel guide, ensuring smooth alignment of pipes.

The primary purpose of stabbing guides is to align pin-to-box threads, minimizing the risk of face damage and connection failure. A stabbing guide tool is utilized for this purpose. It consists of a diametrally split, hinged, and rigid plastics-material infundibulum with high lubricity, toughness, and strength. This design allows the tool to receive and guide a pin connector while having a locating socket that engages a box connector.

To ensure ease of use, the tool is equipped with a torsion spring that keeps it in a closed position and features a pair of hand grip levers for convenient opening, placement, and removal of the tool. The combination of these features enhances the efficiency and safety of the make-up process.
