Their primary purpose is to prevent the axial movement of centralizers or cement baskets on the casing during cementing operations.
- Installation and Usage Guidelines for Centralizer Stop Collars
a. Mobile Screw-Type Stop Collar: Slide the collar over the casing and use a wrench to securely tighten the screws.
b. Fixed Screw-Type Stop Collar: Place the collar around the casing, insert the screws, and gently tap them into position using a hammer.
c. Buckle-Type Stop Collar: Attach and fasten the stop collar onto the casing using the buckle mechanism, and secure it with a pin. Subsequently, use a hammer to gently tap the screws into place.
