API 7K Type MP Drill Collar Safety Clamps are essential safety tools for oilfield drilling operations, designed to securely grip and hold drill collars, flush joint pipes, and small shoulder pipes during handling procedures.

The safety clamp features individual links flexibly hinged together, with each link containing a separate tapered slip that functions as a gripping mechanism. Spring tension maintains slips in retracted positions until the clamp is tightened, when each slip takes firm initial grip on the pipe surface. If pipe movement occurs or load increases, the tapered mounting causes slips to wedge tighter against the pipe, increasing grip strength and preventing further movement.
