How an Airless Bottle Works
Airless bottles operate on a vacuum-driven dispensing principle:
A. Key Components
-
Outer Shell – Typically made of plastic (PP, PET, ABS) or glass.
-
Pump/Dispenser Head – Pressing it releases the product.
-
Internal Piston (or Collapsible Bag) – Moves upward as the product is dispensed.
-
Base Plate – Seals the bottom and maintains vacuum pressure.
-
Diaphragm (in some designs) – Prevents air from re-entering.
B. Mechanism
-
When the pump is pressed, the piston rises, pushing the product out.
-
As the product is dispensed, the piston creates a vacuum, preventing air from entering.
-
No dip tube is needed (unlike traditional pumps), so nearly 100% of the product is used.
Visual Analogy:
"Think of a syringe—when you press the plunger, the liquid is forced out without letting air back in."
