1. Trigger: The lever the user squeezes to activate the pump.

2. Actuator/Nozzle Head: The top part where the liquid exits. Often adjustable for different spray patterns.

3. Closure: The cap that screws onto the bottle.

4. Dip Tube: The tube that extends to the bottom of the bottle to draw up liquid.

5. Piston & Cylinder: The core pumping mechanism that creates pressure and suction.

6. Spring: Returns the trigger to its original position after squeezing.

7. Valves: Small one-way valves (usually ball or flap valves) that ensure liquid flows in only one direction (up the dip tube and out the nozzle).

8. Shield: A protective guard that helps prevent accidental spraying and provides a comfortable grip.

9. Trigger Lock: A small tab or slider that locks the trigger in the "on" position.

   Types of Trigger Sprayers

   • Standard Trigger Sprayers: The most common type, used for all-purpose cleaners, garden products, etc.

   • Chemical-Resistant Sprayers: Specifically designed with materials (like Viton seals) to handle harsh solvents, acids, alkalis, and agricultural chemicals without degrading.

   • Adjustable vs. Fixed Nozzle: Higher-end models offer adjustable patterns; simpler ones have a fixed spray.

   • Metal Spring vs. Plastic Spring: Metal springs are generally more durable and provide a stronger, more consistent return.

   • Output Volume: Sprayers are designed to deliver a specific amount of liquid per squeeze (e.g., 1.5cc, 2.0cc, 3.0cc).
