650*2700mm Electric Arc Furnace Graphite Electrodes
650 * 2700mm UHP Graphite Electrode for EAF
Introduction
Graphite electrodes are mainly used in steel-making industry, such as electric arc furnaces, ladle furnace, yellow phosphorus production and silicon furnace. They are presently the only products available that have high levels of electrical conductivity and the capability of sustaining the extremely high levels of heat generated in EAF. Graphite electrodes are mainly divided into 3 Types: RP (Regular Power) Graphite electrodes, HP(High Power) Graphite electrodes, and UHP (Ultra High Power) Graphite electrodes.
Graphite Electrode Manufacturing Process
1.Raw Material
Use of high-quality low ash materials, such as petroleum coke, needle coke and coal pitch.
2.Crushing & Screening
Break the needle coke in mechanical equipment and screening according to the formula after the proportion of the ingredients.
3.Kneading
Mix the ingredients of the raw materials according to the nature of raw material and made it to be paste.
4.Extruding
After kneading of the paste is shaped with vacuum and pressure, the “green” product is then formed and cooled.
5.Baking
Where “green” electrode is heated to certain temperature to carbonize the pitch, vaporize the impurities and reduce the resistance. It is a long and repeat process.
6.Impregnation
Submerge the baked product into hot & clean impregnating pitch, let pitch penetrate inside the electrode and fill the pole inside.
7.Graphitization
LWG furnace(lengthwise graphitization furnace): direct heating. Utilizing the resistance of electrode itself, converting the electric power to thermal power and graphitize the electrode. The temperature may reach to 2600 ~ 3000 ℃.
