Product Description
Industrial High Density 90WNiFe Heavy Tungsten Alloy Threads
Heavy Tungsten Alloy Threads have high hardness (also known as 3H alloy), and has excellent comprehensive properties such as good ductility, thermal conductivity and thermal conductivity. It plays an important role in the manufacture of weapons and is widely used in the defense industry. Aerospace and civil industries (such as electrical, drilling and other industries). High specific gravity tungsten alloy has become a military and civilian alloy material.

Introduction and characteristics of Heavy Tungsten Alloy Threads
- The tungsten content of heavy tungsten alloy is between 90% and 98%, which is the reason for its high density (16.5~19.00g/CC). Nickel, iron and/or copper are used as metal bonding substrates to bind the fragile tungsten particles together, making tungsten alloys malleable and easy to work with. Nickel-iron is the most commonly used additive in a ratio of 7Ni:3Fe or 8ni:2Fe (weight ratio).
- The usual process for making heavy tungsten alloys involves mixing the desired amount of tungsten, iron, nickel or copper powder, followed by cold pressing and liquid phase sintering to near full density. During the liquid phase treatment, a certain amount of tungsten is added to the tungsten alloy melt to form a microstructure and form large tungsten particles (20–60 μm) dispersed in the matrix alloy.
Application of Heavy Tungsten Alloy Threads
- In order to improve the nuclear kinetic energy and armor piercing ability of projectile, the use of high specific gravity tungsten alloy is a successful technical measure in the design and development of armor piercing projectile abroad. At present, in addition to the United States, many Western European countries have adopted tungsten alloy core materials.
