Introduction:
PT Tube is mainly used for the test of blood coagulation mechanisms. It is filled with buffered tri-sodium citrate solution, and citrate concentrations of either 0,109 mol/l (3,2%) or 0,129 mol/l (3,8%) are available. The choice of the concentration depends upon the policies of the laboratories.
Light Blue Top Tube is used for coagulation testing. The tube contains buffered sodium citrate as an anticoagulant. It is critical to test accuracy that the tube be filled completely. Inadequate amounts of blood in the tube can yield erroneous test results.
