ACSR is a composite concentric-lay-stranded conductor featuring galvanized steel strands forming the central core, surrounded by one or more layers of EC Grade Aluminum wires. The steel core may consist of a single strand or concentric-stranded cable of 7, 19, 37, or more wires, with numerous combinations of aluminum and steel strands available.
ACSR conductors are widely used in power transmission lines with various voltage levels due to their simple structure, convenient installation and maintenance, low cost, and large transmission capacity. They are particularly suitable for crossing rivers, valleys, and areas with challenging geographical features.
- Permissible long-time operating temperature: 70℃
- Maximum stress at lowest sag point should not exceed 60% of short-time destructive power in heavy ice areas
- Connecting tube installation requires proper alignment and moisture-proof varnish application
- Installation arc downing stress should be consistent across all conductors
