B-399 Aerial Bundled Cable (ABC Cable) is a 0.6/1KV service drop cable featuring XLPE insulation and aluminum conductors. Designed for overhead power distribution applications, this cable provides reliable performance in various environmental conditions.
Construction Details
The cable features a robust construction consisting of:
- 3 power cores with standard aluminum conductors and XLPE insulation
- Optional sheath lighting aluminum conductor with XLPE insulation
- Messenger Al-alloy conductor (bare or covered)
Messenger Wire Functions
- Acts as load bearing wire for structural support
- Serves as earth or neutral conductor for electrical safety
Note: Messenger conductor can also be manufactured using galvanized steel wire as an alternative material.
Application Specifications
Designed for use at voltages of 600V phase-to-phase or less with conductor temperatures not exceeding 75°C for polyethylene insulated conductors or 90°C for cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated conductors.
