Earth Bonding Point plug is designed to provide safety and convenience earthing point in an EPA.
The plug fits into the mains supply socket, making a connection with the earth conductor only.
In place of the live and neutral pins are molded insulating plastic pins to allow positive location in the socket.
The connector on the front of the plug can be connected to the various components of the EPA via a ground wire.
The normal ground contact is connected to each connector on the front of the plug with a 1M resistor rated at 1 watt.
In the event of a workstation element becoming live. At 230V, the resistor limits the fault current to less than 0.3 mA.
It’s virtually impossible to misuse the plug, which is permanently sealed.
The resistance between the terminals and pins of each plug was tested after manufacturing.
