1. Why ductile iron fittings?
Easier Handling: The lower weight facilitates handling at all stages.
Superior Strength: The D.I. fittings have thickness of K12, which is more than the wall thickness of K9 pipes
with which these fittings are used. A sound D.I. fitting will never burst and offers a high factor of safety.
Easier Jointing: With flexible Push-on-Joints or Mechanical Joints, installation is simpler and quicker. Flexible
Joints allow variable degree of angular deflection.
Impact Resistance: Ductile Iron being impact resistant, D.I. fittings are unlikely to get damaged during
transportation, installation and service.
Close Dimensional Tolerance: The vacuum lost foam process technique ensures proper dimension and proper
thickness.
Longer Life: Corrosion resistance of ductile iron is similar to that of cast iron. Inside cement mortar lining and
outside zinc coating enhances the life further.
Total Cost Economy: Due to lower weights and Jointing by rubber gaskets the total cost of installation of D.I.
fittings is economical.
