Gabion baskets is also well know as gabion cage, stone cage.

Gabion baskets cage is made of hot dipped galvanized wire, with heavy galvanized, the cage is woven with double twist and hexagonal mesh.

The gabion basket cage is woven by machine, the diameter of wire is 2.2mm, 2.7mm, 3.4mm ect, but the edges of cage will be selvedged with a wire having a greater diameter.

Geotextile

A layer of geotextile is added between the top surface of the river embankment and the bottom layer of the gabion, in order to stabilize and constrain the displacement of the gabion mesh, and transfer or disperse the local stress of the soil in a large area, so as to enhance the friction resistance between the soil and the geotextile.

At the same time, geotextile can protect and prevent erosion of soil or water surface, prevent soil particles from passing through, and reduce soil structure damage caused by soil particle loss.
