Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) Evaporator Technology
Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) evaporators achieve up to 90% energy savings compared to conventional evaporation systems by reusing the latent heat contained in vapor that would otherwise be wasted.
How MVR Evaporation Works
The process begins with feed liquid entering the top of a vertical chamber (Calandria) where it forms a film inside vertical tubes. As the liquid flows downward, high-temperature vapor condenses on the tube exteriors, transferring latent heat to evaporate water from the feed liquid. The resulting concentrated liquid is collected while the vapor, containing most of the system's energy, is drawn into the ExVel turbo fan.
The ExVel unit compresses this vapor, increasing its pressure and temperature to levels suitable for reuse as heating steam. With an impeller tip velocity exceeding 1000 km/h, this robust, gas-tight turbo fan efficiently drives the MVR evaporation process, requiring only electrical power once operational temperature is reached.
