Fresh blood is an important protein supplement as it contains as much as 90 per cent protein, including large amounts of lysine, tryptophane and methionine. It is used as protein concentrate in animal feeds as it contains practically no fibre and allows the animal a higher protein intake without increasing the volume of feed.
