Product Description
Titanium is a transition metal used in the aerospace, medical and military industries. It's as strong as steel, but 40 percent lighter.
Titanium's ductility and high melting point make it ideal for extreme high temperature applications.
Titanium is extremely strong and boasts a high strength-to-weight ratio. It also has excellent corrosion resistance, high operating temperatures (up to 1,000°F) and is nontoxic. Another key benefit of titanium is its low thermal expansion and high melting point that is roughly 3,000 degrees F.
Machining titanium will be more costly than other metals such as aluminum due to it being more difficult to manufacture and machine. In terms of appearance, titanium’s color varies depending on how much it has been altered. It can range from dull gray in raw form to shiny silver when smooth.
