PAPP-A is mainly a macromolecular glycoprotein produced by the placenta and decidua, and during pregnancy, PAPP-A is produced in large quantities by the decidua and released into the maternal circulation. The concentration of PAPP-A in maternal blood increased with the increase of pregnancy period until delivery.
