PTFE Semi-Automatic Molding Machine Overview
PTFE requires specialized processing techniques as it does not flow above its melting point, making injection molding unsuitable. Our semi-automatic molding process involves compression molding powder into preforms followed by sintering, similar to sintered metal processing, to create geometric shapes for machining, fusing, and welding.
Automatic Molding Process
Automatic molding is a semi-automated compression molding method ideal for medium to large-volume production of net molded and near net molded PTFE components. This process utilizes dedicated tooling with minimal operator intervention, enabling rapid fabrication of plastic parts.
With precise tooling and processing, parts manufactured using automatic molding achieve relatively close tolerances, though not to the precision of fully machined components. The automated process includes die cavity filling, pressure application, and part ejection for economical production.
