How Rotary Drum Thickening Works:

Rotary drum thickening increases the sludge solids concentration (i.e. thickens the sludge) by agitating the solids in a slowly-rotating vessel with porous walls through which the water (or filtrate)drains.

Solids Collection: The thickened sludge, with an increased solids concentration, gradually accumulates on the drum's surface. As the drum rotates, a scraper or a doctor's blade removes the thickened sludge from the drum's surface and directs it toward a discharge outlet.

Filtrate Collection: The drained water or filtered passes through the porous medium and is collected in the filtered chamber located inside the machine unit. From there, it can be discharged or further treated.

Drum Cleaning: To prevent clogging of the porous medium, a cleaning system, such as water sprays or brushes, is employed to remove any debris or solids that might accumulate on the drum's surface.
