Portable Cable Outer Sheath Fault Pinpointing Device
With the full deployment of urban network transformation, many power supply bureaus, construction teams, and design units are encountering 110kV XLPE cables for the first time. Due to time constraints and limited experience, many cables fail the withstand voltage test (10kV/1min). Most outer sheaths use HDPE material, which passes factory DC 25kV/5min withstand voltage tests with leakage currents as low as tens of μA. Post-installation defects typically result from external damage during laying, while operational defects may include termite damage, grounding box moisture, insulation deterioration, or moisture penetration at grounding wire junctions.
Our high-voltage cable outer sheath fault detector (output voltage ≤10kV) complies with Chinese national standard GB50150-2006 for cable sheath testing. It's ideal for:
- Cable sheath handover and preventive testing
- Fault location in cross-interconnect systems
- Identifying grounding faults and leakage currents in 10kV-500kV cables
