Heavy Duty Apron Feeder
1.Product Introduction Minerals Conveying Equipment
The Apron Feeder (plate feeder) is heavy-duty equipment for the steady and controlled transport of large-lump, high-density, and abrasive materials. It is an essential component in mining and mineral processing lines, usually positioned under feed bins or discharge hoppers to regulate the flow to primary crushers or conveyors. It is widely applied across the cement, metallurgical, and chemical sectors to ensure process continuity.
2.Application Minerals Conveying Equipment
-
Cement Industry: Provides continuous feeding from raw material bins to crushers, handling materials such as limestone, clay, and other raw components.
-
Mineral Processing Plants: Conveys large-lump ores to jaw crushers, serving as the essential upstream equipment for the primary crushing process.
-
Coal & Chemicals: Ensures stable material flow within coal storage and transportation systems, effectively preventing material blockages.
-
Metallurgical Industry: Specifically designed for transporting high-temperature materials such as sinter and coke.
Case Example: In a cement production line, the apron feeder works in tandem with the jaw crusher to precisely control the feeding rate. This integration minimizes mechanical impact on the crusher, significantly extending its service life.
3.Working Principle Minerals Conveying Equipment
The cyclic movement of the metal pans is driven by the chain, allowing materials to move forward with the pans and be conveyed to the target destination. The drive system can be configured as either Right-Hand (RH) or Left-Hand (LH) drive, offering flexible layout options to suit specific site requirements.
4.Advantages
- Continuous and Uniform Feeding The apron feeder ensures a consistent and steady material discharge from storage bins to downstream equipment (such as primary crushers). By preventing equipment overload or production downtime caused by uneven feeding, it significantly enhances the stability of the entire production line.
- Built for Extreme Conditions Designed for reliability in harsh environments, the equipment operates effectively under high temperatures (up to 400°C), high humidity, and heavy dust conditions. It is particularly suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications such as cement plants and mineral processing facilities.
- Superior Load-Bearing Capacity Engineered to handle large-lump, high-density, and highly abrasive materials—including ore, coal, and clinker—it offers a maximum throughput of up to 200 m³/h and can be extended to lengths exceeding 42 meters.
