ASTM E747 Wire Type Penetrameters
ASTM E747 wire penetrameters feature six parallel wires of varying thicknesses encapsulated between transparent, flexible PVC sheets. Each unit includes lead characters identifying the thickest wire thickness and material group classification (1-FE, 01-Ti, 02-Al, 03-Mg, 3-Ni, 4-Cu), along with the ASTM designation.
DIN 54109 Wire Type Image Quality Indicators

Each plate contains three precisely drilled holes with diameters of 1X, 2X, and 4X the plate thickness. Minimum thickness starts at 0.010", with disc configurations available for penetrameters exceeding 0.180".
