HD-101 Porosity Holiday Detector for Corrosion Protection
The HD-101 Porosity Detector is designed for non-destructive detection and location of pinholes, bare spots, and thin points in protective coatings applied for corrosion protection over metal and concrete surfaces. With corrosion being a costly global problem, preventative detection becomes essential for infrastructure maintenance.
Operating Principle
The detector generates a high DC voltage that is applied to the coating surface through a probe. When the probe passes over a coating flaw, the electrical circuit completes, current flows to the substrate, and audible/visual alarms activate while a spark may be produced at the flaw location.
