Product Description
GE Fanuc IC697MEM713 PLCs Machine Control Memory Module Series 90-70 CMOS
Attribute Value
Power Supply 5V DC

The GE Fanuc IC697MEM713 is a high-performance programmable coprocessor module—essentially a specialized microcomputer designed to execute coprocessor functions. It integrates the capabilities of three module types into one: communications modules, ASCII modules, and Basic modules.

Exclusively engineered for the GE Fanuc Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), this module offers flexible connectivity configurations: it can operate with 1 or 2 independent CCM ports, or alternatively, with a single serial port.

Programming the IC697MEM713 is enabled via MegaBasic—a powerful BASIC-derived language. This language excels at supporting critical industrial tasks, including real-time data acquisition, secure data storage, and efficient data retrieval, all while ensuring seamless real-time computing performance.

Operational Controls: Restart/Reset Pushbutton

The IC697MEM713 is equipped with a dedicated Restart/Reset pushbutton, which controls the module's operational mode based on how long it is pressed:

  • Soft Reset (RUN Mode): Pressing the pushbutton for less than 5 seconds triggers a soft reset, placing the module into "RUN Mode"—its active operational state for executing preprogrammed tasks.
  • Program Development Mode: Holding the pushbutton for more than 10 seconds shifts the module into "PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT Mode," where programming and configuration adjustments can be made.
Status Monitoring: LED Indicators

Up to 3 LED indicators are located on the top and front of the IC697MEM713 (often referred to as the PCM, or Programmable Coprocessor Module), each conveying specific status information:

  • OFF State: If this LED is off, it indicates the module is non-functional. This typically occurs due to a hardware malfunction.
  • Steady ON State: This LED remains steadily lit during normal operation, signifying the module is functioning correctly. It will only deviate from this steady glow if a fault or issue arises.
  • Flashing State: This LED flashes exclusively during the power-up diagnostics process—alerting users that the module is performing initial self-checks to verify hardware and system integrity before entering full operation.
