The QBJ-3PN eccentricity monitoring instrument provides comprehensive monitoring and protection for rotating machinery shafts. This system consists of a monitoring instrument and a 3800XL-Φ8mm eddy current sensor, delivering reliable eccentricity measurement that is essential for evaluating the overall mechanical condition of rotating equipment.
Eccentricity measurement has become indispensable during steam turbine start-up or shutdown operations. The system enables visualization of shaft bending caused by thermal effects or gravitational forces, providing critical data for machinery health assessment.
Measurement Applications
Eccentricity measures shaft bending at low speeds, detecting issues caused by:
- Pre-existing mechanical bending
- Temporary temperature-induced bending
- Gravity bending under static conditions
The rotor's eccentric position (shaft radial position) indicates bearing wear, applied load magnitude from misalignment, and determines shaft azimuth angle for stability assessment.
